Driving on Milos: what the roads actually are

Main village links are paved. The last stretch to several south-coast beaches is not. Firiplaka is often described with a gravel finish; Tsigrado’s parking sits at the end of a dirt approach; Plathiena and Agia Kyriaki are reached on roads with compacted dirt sections. Wikipedia’s Firiplaka note and beach guides agree on the pattern even when they disagree on metre-by-metre detail. If the contract forbids unpaved roads, your “best beach” list just got shorter.

Hill villages were not laid out for July traffic. Plan to walk from the edge. Klima’s waterfront is worse. Adamas and Pollonia are easier. An evening transfer to Plaka is often cheaper in mood than a circling hire car, even if the rental is already paid for the day.

ATVs are widely offered in the Cyclades. They are not a toy and they are not a luggage solution for an airport arrival. Helmets, unpaved clauses and inexperience on gravel are how holidays end early. This page will not recommend a brand. If you ride one, stay off the ladder beaches as a parking plan.

When the hire ends at Adamas, the airport or Pollonia, a private pickup means you are not standing with suitcases beside an empty rank. That product is rental-return pickup. We still need the depot address and the time you expect to be finished with the inspection.
