Pollonia: the north-east village on the water

This is a proper village on the water, not a hill capital and not a ferry terminal town in the Adamas sense. The beach is beside the settlement, with tamarisk shade and shallow water described by beach guides; tavernas and rooms line the front. It works as a base if you like swimming before breakfast and walking to dinner. It is less central for a south-coast beach day: Firiplaka and Paleochori are the other side of the island.

Accommodation spreads beyond the postcard waterfront. When you request a transfer, send the exact property name or pin. A “Pollonia” pin in the middle of the bay does not help a driver at dusk.

From Milos Airport the published fare is €40 per vehicle for up to four passengers; from Adamas port it is €35. Larger parties need a minivan quote. In summer the island bus lists Pollonia among its destinations; check the current timetable rather than assuming an evening return exists. The local ferry to Psathi on Kimolos leaves from Pollonia. Elysium’s road service covers the Milos journey to or from this quay. It does not include ferry tickets and it does not operate on Kimolos. Sarakiniko is closer from here than the south coast is. A morning at the white rocks and an afternoon back in the village is a coherent day.
