Visiting with respect
Shoulders and knees covered is the safe default. Ask before photographing inside. If a service is underway, stay at the back or come back later. Festival days (panigyria) are living events — see the festivals page — not a private hire backdrop.
On a driving day
Firopotamos is often remembered for the church above the cove. Plaka holds several churches in a short walk. A chauffeur can pause; a chauffeur cannot open a locked door. Combine with history and museums if the day is cultural rather than a beach circuit.
