Give the first and last day some air

The first day is for arriving. The last day is for leaving. Milos punishes a plan that puts Kleftiko between a morning turboprop and an evening ferry. Keep slack around MLO’s small terminal, around ships that run late, and around a night in Athens before a long-haul. A transfer can absorb a delay when you have booked monitoring; it cannot invent a missed international gate.

Arriving

Fly: read the airport guide, send the flight number, sleep wherever the hour suggests — Adamas if it is late. Sail: send the ferry name for an Adamas pickup. Do not book a three-stop private tour that starts forty minutes after a ship that is already running two hours down.

Leaving

Sky Express tells passengers at Greek airports to allow two hours and notes that check-in desks close 40 minutes before departure. MLO is small, but a late beach and a dirt road are how people still miss it. For a Piraeus sailing, be on the quay with margin; vehicle check-in, when you have a car, is earlier than foot passengers. Same-day Milos-to-Athens-to-New-York is a hobby for people who like stress.
