Why people pick it
Shallow water and a road to the sand are rare enough on Milos to make Provatas the family answer. It will not give you Sarakiniko’s geology or Tsigrado’s drama. It will give you a place to put a bag down without a rope. Seasonal furniture and tavernas mean you can stay for hours if the canteen is open — still bring water if you are here in June before everything has woken up.
Next door on the coast road
Firiplaka is the coloured-cliff neighbour with a short gravel walk. Tsigrado remains a separate, harder decision. The beaches comparison sets all three in one table. A south-coast tour can include Provatas as the easy swim after the dramatic stops.
